This workshop provides an experiential introduction to the art of problem solving.
Topics include:
- Defining the steps in the problem solving and decision making process
- Sources of difficulties in problem identification
- Tools for problem identification
- Tools for problem analysis
- Determining and evaluating alternative solutions
- Tools to enhance creativity in problem solving
- What to do after the decision to implement a solution is made
- The human side of problem solving
- Who should be involved in the problem-solving, decision-making process
- The role of statistical analysis in solving technical problems
At the completion of this course, the employee should be able to:
- Describe the relationship between problem solving skills and decision making
- Describe the steps in decision-making
- Identify obstacles to accurate problem identification
- Create a Pareto analysis, Force field
