Helping Veterans and Their Families with Career Opportunities
US military veterans and their families are invited to become a part of the New Jersey Defense Community. Through the newly formed NJMEP-led New Jersey Defense Manufacturing Community Consortium (NJDMCC), veterans and their families will now have plenty of support for professional development, continuing education, and career opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
Participating in the NJDMCC will prepare veterans and their families for meaningful jobs while providing them with countless resources to help them transition into manufacturing careers. Most importantly, the NJDMCC is of no cost to veterans and their families who join. Veterans and their families will benefit with:
- Career support and resume building resources
- Continuing education
- Professional development opportunities
- Certification programs
How to Qualify for Training
Veterans or their families seeking employment will receive workforce training/retraining through NJMEP and its DoD partners to be a more attractive hire for manufacturers. Once they complete the required training, the consortium will assist unemployed participants during their job search by working with manufacturers that participate in the NJMDCC. Veterans and their families must meet qualifications to be eligible for this program:
- Must be a US military veteran or immediate family member of a veteran or active service member
- Required to be a current New Jersey resident
