Small Business Forum Features NJMEP Leadership Team Along with U.S. Senator Cory Booker
Leaders from NJMEP joined U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) on Friday, May 16th to host a forum for New Jersey’s small manufacturers. The event was held from 8:00am – 11:00am at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, College of Architecture and Design in Weston Hall, at 154 Summit Street, Newark, NJ 07102.
The forum included panel discussions and breakout sessions to help NJ manufacturers overcome their challenges and highlighted federal resources available to local manufacturers. Small manufacturing owners, from newly formed companies to established organizations, attended.
John W. Kennedy Ph.D., Robert Stramara and Matthew Paknis, NJMEP’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Development Officer respectively, all participated in the event.
The panels focused on a wide range of critical topics including access to capital, innovation, growth strategies and manufacturing certifications such as ISO, Lean, environment and food safety. Officials from the Small Business Administration and other federal partners were in attendance to guide discussions and answer questions.
Additional panelists and exhibitors included: Rutgers-Newark Center for Supply Chain Management, the NJIT Technical Assistance Center, Manufacturing Institute, NJ Innovation Institute and lenders.
