NJMEP Sets the Date for its Annual ‘Made in New Jersey’ Event on Friday, October 3rd in Celebration of National Manufacturing Day
Morris Plains, N.J. – The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) announces that its yearly Made in New Jersey event will be held on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 in celebration of the third annual National Manufacturing Day. The event will occur at The Palace at Somerset Park at 33 Davidson Avenue, Somerset, NJ 08873.
The occasion will celebrate the importance of New Jersey’s manufacturing sector and will include networking opportunities, keynote speeches and panel discussions on important industry topics such as workforce development, recruiting and retention, innovation, growth, supply chain development and logistics. NJBIZ and NJMEP will also present the Inaugural Manufacturing Awards to honor New Jersey manufacturers in a variety of categories.
The event is tentatively scheduled to commence at 7:30am and is anticipated to conclude in the afternoon. Breakfast and lunch will be included. Click here for more information.
“New Jersey’s manufacturing community is vital to our state’s economic growth,” says Lynore DeSantis, NJMEP’s Chief Financial Officer and organizer of the Made in New Jersey event. “This annual celebration recognizes how crucial manufacturing is to our economy and spreads awareness about the diverse positions in our sector.”

To celebrate the event, NJMEP is also offering a special discount for manufacturers who participate in their Made in New Jersey program. The program was developed to promote New Jersey’s manufacturers and showcase the products made in the Garden State.
Manufacturers can sign up at no cost to be featured in the Made in New Jersey online directory or participate in the Made in New Jersey LinkedIn Group, Facebook Page, Twitter Profile or Blog. NJMEP is additionally helping New Jersey manufacturers host events Monday, September 29th through Thursday, October 3rd, during the week leading up to National Manufacturing Day. Possible events include open houses and tours for groups such community leaders, legislators, local businesses, media members and students and educators.
