NJMEP Set to Participate in Trenton’s “Maker’s Day” on Friday, July 29th
(Cedar Knolls, N.J.) – The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) announces that it will participate in Trenton’s “Maker’s Day” on Friday, July 29th. The event will be held from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Roebling Wire Works building at 675 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08611.
The goal of the event is to celebrate Trenton’s manufacturers and “makers” who are expanding and supporting the local economy. The theme of the event pays homage to the city’s famous slogan, “Trenton Makes, the World Takes.”
As part of the celebration, participating manufacturers will be providing demos, exhibits and hands-on activities for local students from 6th through 12th grade.
According to the official event details, Trenton has approximately 70 manufacturing companies, many of whom are expanding their businesses. The city is also home to “artists, programmers, fashion designers and has a rich industrial history.”
NJMEP, a not-for-profit that helps strengthen the global competitiveness of New Jersey’s manufacturers, will be participating and exhibiting at the event.
“Events like this are critical to attracting the next generation of manufacturing workers. These gatherings enable students to gain first-hand experience about the incredible and diverse career opportunities that manufacturing has to offer. NJMEP is proud to participate and help shape the perception of modern manufacturing for our youth,” said John W. Kennedy, CEO of NJMEP.
