Manufacturing Extension Program offering new services
HANOVER: The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program has introduced a new suite of services to assist manufacturers in managing their supply chain, transportation and logistics needs, according to a press release from NJMEP.
The ProAction Network, the Consulting Division of NJMEP, is offering supply chain solutions that deliver a competitive advantage to NJ manufacturers, the release said.
According to Company Logistics Cost and Service Database, logistics costs end up being approximately 9 percent of sales, and transportation makes up 50 percent of those logistics costs. Utilizing NJMEP’s new services will reduce operating costs and increase revenue and profitability, the release said.
Industry experts from NJMEP’s ProAction Network provide an initial evaluation of a manufacturer’s current supply chain, transportation, and logistics system at no cost or obligation to the company, the release said.
“Many of our clients, small and midsized manufacturers, do not have the manpower to oversee their spend in these areas,” said George Saives, director of Consulting Services. “This new suite of services was created to do just that….reduce their spend and provide auditing of costs.”
NJMEP is a member of the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) network. MEP is a Federal-State-industry partnership that provides small and medium-sized U.S. manufacturers with access to technologies, resources, and industry experts. To learn more about NJMEP visit NJMEP.org.
