NJMEP Completes $250,000 Pledge in Support to NJ’s Manufacturers through Year of Advocacy Program
Morris Plains, NJ – The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) has announced that they have achieved their pledge of raising $250,000 in value to New Jersey’s manufacturing community. This pledge was completed for the NJMEP’s “Year of Advocacy” program, and it was carried out through a series of initiatives and programs all designed to support NJ’s manufacturers.
The “Year of Advocacy” was announced officially at NJMEP’s Open House on May 28th, 2014 surrounded by various members from the NJ manufacturing community. Within five months, the $250,000 goal was met and accomplished. As part of the original announcement, attendees were encouraged to sign the “2014-2015 Year of Advocacy for NJ Manufacturing” banner, which amassed over 2,500 signatures (pictured below).
“As of today, we passed the goal set in January by our own Tony DeSantis for our ‘Year of Advocacy’ project that supports all Manufacturers a STEM firms in New Jersey,” announced John W. Kennedy, the Chief Executive Officer of NJEMP. “Our goal for the year was $250,000 worth of “No Cost (to Manufacturers)” Services, and we are at $269,513!”
This pledge was accomplished through NJMEP’s work with a variety of allies, associates and business partners to produce a range of new programs and initiatives at no cost for NJ’s manufacturers. One such example is the Experience Manufacturing program, which was created to address and combat the lack of skilled workers available in the field of manufacturing.
In addition to this, NJMEP has been providing complimentary training days, workshops and webinars for any topics that might be critical for manufacturers. This also included ISO certifications, as well as information for Lean Manufacturing and talks from industry experts. The training days are no cost for any small manufacturing firms provided by the NJMEP Resource team.
“Manufacturing growth is vital to our state’s economy. We are proud to support these companies that make a positive impact on our state,” said Tony DeSantis, the Senior Vice President of NJMEP.
