NJMEP Completes $250,000 Pledge in Support of NJ’s Manufacturers

The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) has announced that it has accomplished its $250,000 pledge in value to New Jersey’s manufacturing community. The pledge was first announced as part of NJMEP’s “Year of Advocacy” program and comes through the form of various initiatives and programs directly supporting New Jersey’s manufacturers.

NJMEP has worked with a variety of allies, associates and business partners to produce a range of new programs and initiatives at no cost for NJ’s manufacturers, including:

• Corporate, Facility Lean Manufacturing & ISO Assessments
• Complimentary Workshop programs by industry experts
• Experience Manufacturing, a program to connect young adults with manufacturers looking to fill open positions
• Scholarships
• No-cost training days for smaller firms

NJMEP made the official announcement at its Open House on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 surrounded by members of the New Jersey manufacturing community. As part of the proclamation, attendees signed a “2014-2015 Year of Advocacy for NJ Manufacturing” banner, which amassed over 2,500 signatures.

“Manufacturing growth is vital to our state’s economy. We are proud to support these companies that make a positive impact on our state,” says Tony DeSantis, NJMEP’s Senior Vice President.
