NJMEP Announces Premiere of ExporTech™ to help NJ Businesses Increase Sales from Exports
Morris Plains, N.J. – The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) announces the premiere of ExporTech™, a program designed to help manufacturers enter or expand into global markets. The program includes workshops headed by national experts and provides manufacturers with tools to develop and implement a strategic exporting plan quickly and easily.
“95 percent of the world’s customers live outside the U.S., but many manufacturers don’t know how to manage international inquiries. Businesses know their products have international potential, but aren’t sure of the next steps to take,” says John W. Kennedy, NJMEP’s COO. “This program will provide hands-on coaching so our manufacturers can confidently introduce or expand international sales.”
The program, presented in partnership with U.S. Commercial Services and FedEx, is intended for C-level executives and key decision makers. Companies participate in three one-day group sessions scheduled over a three-month period. The program teaches international strategies and success factors, helps participants build an export plan in just three months and connects attendees with exporting resources to expedite the process.
The program has proven to be tremendously successful for manufacturers nationwide. The average participant has historically increased sales by nearly $170,000. Companies generate export sales within three to six months of program completion and typical cost savings for participants is $34,000. Workshop classes are kept small so manufacturers can be provided with personalized coaching and support.
The ExporTech™ program will be held at Saddle Brook Marriot on October 7th, November 12th and December 9th. A special introductory workshop is also available on September 30th. Companies can sign-up online and must be registered by Friday, September 27th.
In addition to ExporTech™, NJMEP now also offers exporting services through its Pro-Action Network, a program designed to maximize the value of NJMEP’s programs to help manufacturers grow, stay informed of industry news and save on consulting fees.
NJMEP’s services are geared towards helping state manufacturers increase sales and profit, reduce costs, improve efficiencies and spur job creation. Since 2000, NJMEP has helped manufacturers realize nearly $2.3 billion in value: $1.6 billion in increased and retained sales, $262 million in cost savings, $332 million in investments and 18,600 jobs created or retained.
