NJ Manufacturer SPEX CertiPrep Celebrates 60th Anniversary

NJ Manufacturer SPEX CertiPrep recently celebrated their 60th Anniversary. Based in Metuchen, SPEX CertiPrep is a manufacturer of Certified Reference Materials and Calibration Standards for the analytical Spectroscopy and Chromatography communities. The company’s primary focus is to provide Inorganic and Organic Certified Reference Materials of the highest quality and superior customer support. The Inorganic standards are manufactured for ICP-MS, ICP, IC, AA and XRF. The Organic Standards are manufactured for GC-MS, LC-MS, GC, HLPC and LC-ICP-MS.

SPEX CertiPrep is a member of the Made in New Jersey program and was recently highlighted as a featured manufacturer of the week. The organization was also featured in an NJMEP success story. Through Lean manufacturing training, SPEX was able to reduce production and shipping turnaround times while gaining valuable business planning information. The company reported a $145,000 increase in sales, $89,000 in retained sales, $20,000 in cost savings, a $25,000 increase in investments and a $5,000 increase in workforce investments.
