New Jersey Manufacturers Donate 2.5 Tons of Food through NJMEP and CIANJ Food Drive

Food Drive Part of an Ongoing Program called “Manufacturing Cares”

The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) and the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) announce that New Jersey’s manufacturing community has collected an estimated 2.5 tons of goods through a food drive this fall. All of the collected foods were donated to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.

The donation comes through “Manufacturing Cares,” an ongoing program. Through the initiative, New Jersey’s manufacturers give back to the community in various ways such as food drives, volunteerism, donations of resources to noble causes and more.

Earlier this year, state manufacturers donated resources to Camp Noble Cause, which provided a fun camp experience to New Jersey-based families of active duty military personnel.

“New Jersey’s manufacturers do more than contribute to our economy. They’re rallying together to support their local communities and worthy causes, and this is having a tremendously positive impact on our state. NJMEP applauds the efforts of everyone donating their time and resources, and we look forward to continuing this initiative,” says John W. Kennedy, Ph.D., NJMEP’s CEO.

Manufacturing Cares is an extension of NJMEP’s “Year of Advocacy” campaign. NJMEP launched the campaign with an original pledge of $250,000 in value to New Jersey’s manufacturing community.

Experts and organizations crushed the goal by providing more than $620,000 in value to manufacturers through various initiatives such as the Experience Manufacturing Program, no-cost corporate assessments, complimentary workshops and webinars and complimentary training days.
