The Power Of The NJ Manufacturing Community: Supporting Camp Noble Cause

By John W. Kennedy, Ph.D., CEO & President of NJMEP

On Thursday, My 21st, we posted a blog entry called, “Memorial Day and the NJ Manufacturing Community” and sent out a related e-mail to our NJ manufacturing contacts. As part of the message, we issued a “call to action” for the NJ manufacturing community, and asked that members from the industry come together and commit to volunteering and/or donating to a worthy cause.

In particular, we highlighted a program called Camp Noble Cause, which provides a fun camp experience to New Jersey-based families of active duty military personnel at one of our local NJ Boy Scout Camps, Winnebago Scout Reservation in Rockaway.

Recently, Bob Newberry, a volunteer who started this incredible effort for active duty military families eight years, reached out to us and thanked us for the support of NJ manufacturers. Here are some highlights from his letter:

John, I would like to start by thanking you and the NJMEP Team for all your support. The response from the NJ manufacturers was great! We received literally thousand’s of dollars of donations, and then products too!

Camp Noble Cause 2015 was a great success. 408 Active duty family members signed up to attend CNC 2015.

There is simply no way we can do enough to say thank you for the sacrifices made by the Spouses and Children of our Active Duty Military. These families make sacrifices I can’t begin to imagine. Camp Noble Cause is our way of saying Thank You for all they do.

Thank you to everyone who supported Camp Noble Cause. If you are interested in learning more, please contact them directly at 973-305-1218 or campnoblecause@yahoo.com
