Save The Date For National Manufacturing Day: October 4, 2013
If you’re a New Jersey manufacturer, you know how important it is to raise awareness about our sector. It just seems that the public has many misconceptions about manufacturing… what our processes are like… what we actually do… what types of careers are available in our field.
That’s why it’s so important to come together and celebrate National Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 4th. This is National Manufacturing’s Day second year in existence and we’re excited to build upon the momentum that was started last year. The celebration was designed to “expand knowledge about and improve general public perception of manufacturing careers and manufacturing’s value to the U.S. economy.”
During the day, manufacturers from around the nation open up their doors to the general public. The goal is to invite students, parents, educators and media members, among others, to tour manufacturing facilities so that they get a better grasp of industry. NJMEP is celebrating by holding a Made in New Jersey Breakfast, hosted at Rutgers University! The breakfast is complimentary and open to all NJ manufacturers. The event will feature keynote speeches (speakers to be announced!) and Made in New Jersey program participants will be recognized with a Made in New Jersey plaque.
