NJMEP Volunteers at The Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum
On Friday, October 26 2018, the NJMEP staff set out to The Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown, New Jersey to volunteer our time and effort to help work on the grounds and landscape. We did many things like planting bushes, spreading mulch, trimming bushes & trees, raking leaves and much more.
The Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum was founded in 1972. They are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and promote the development of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum and other horticultural facilities of the Morris County Park Commission. Through continuing commitment and volunteer efforts, they foster and develop public awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of horticulture and the natural world.
After a hard working morning, NJMEP gathered for lunch where we were accompanied by Author & Lecture Kevin Woyce, who gave an amazing presentation presenting his book “New Jersey State Parks.” He then gave out signed copies of his book for everyone in attendance after his presentation.
The day ended with an amazing tour of the beautiful grounds at The Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum.
NJMEP and The Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum invite you to give back and volunteer your time to help the cause and help keep these grounds in the best shape it can be. Your help is always welcome.
