NJMEP & The Community Foodbank of New Jersey
In preparation for President’s Day weekend, the staff of NJMEP gave back to New Jersey and its citizens. Having a history of working alongside charitable groups, NJMEP revisited one such organization supplying our state and those in need with thousands of meals over the course of its operation.
Started 40 years ago in the back of a station wagon, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey has grown from its humble beginnings into a massive 200 employee operation. Going above and beyond the act of feeding the hungry, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey assists those in need with the SNAP application process and reaches distant New Jersey communities through multiple mobile pantries.
Ever advocating a wider scope of community outreach against the hunger epidemic, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey inspired NJMEP with its drive for a better tomorrow. NJMEP staff wasted no time rolling up their sleeves and assisting in the packaging and organization of food for New Jersey seniors. By shift’s end, NJMEP had gathered and boxed over 830 care packages for our state’s seniors, and there was no shortage of smiles.
NJMEP and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey invite you to be part of the solution to a problem that’s too long plagued our State and the Nation. The Community Food Bank of New Jersey may have grown tremendously since the beginning, but it can only do so much without the help of eager and willing individuals. NJMEP challenges you to gather a group, break our record, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your effort went to a truly good cause.
