New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) is excited to be working with the Legislature on the Manufacturing Caucus that has been tasked with implementing changes that will help manufacturers become more competitive and successful.
The caucus will be co-chaired by Senate President Steve Sweeney and Senator Bob Gordon, and will be a bipartisan group that will include 14 senators and Assembly members.
On Tuesday, lawmakers officially announced the creation of the Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, which will work to create legislative packages designed to strengthen and grow the manufacturing sector in New Jersey.
John W. Kennedy, Ph.D, CEO Of NJMEP talked at the press conference about the importance of manufacturing and the need for skilled workers. “We support the vocational schools and the more involvement and investment we can make, the more value they will bring to the critical manufacturing and STEM industries. Vocational schools and the manufacturing industry must work together. NJMEP can bring vocational schools and manufacturers together to help institute change,” says Kennedy.
