Diamond Chemical Co. Inc.
About Diamond Chemical Co. Inc.:
Diamond Chemical Co, Inc., a manufacturer of soaps and detergents, was founded in 1930. Diamond began as a manufacturer of sodium hypochlorite (liquid bleach). As the company grew, it began producing products for laundries and dry cleaners as well as specialty products. Diamond now manufactures over three million pounds per week of laundry, warewash, floor care, housekeeping, organic intermediates and industrial products.
Our 16 acre site East Rutherford, NJ is home to a 150,000 square foot complex housing offices, manufacturing, warehousing, and 10,000 square feet laboratories. We also have four plastic resin silos for our five Blow Molding lines which are capable of producing approximately 120,000 containers/day.
Diamond has installed a six acre, 1.5 megawatt solar farm adjacent to its East Rutherford headquarters to partially provide power to its operations. This is the equivalent amount of energy used by about 1,500 homes in one year. The use of solar power lessens Diamond’s energy expense which saves Diamond and its customers money. The solar farm also reduces emissions, Green House Gases (GHG), and lessens Diamond’s environmental/ carbon footprint. This is one of Diamond’s sizable efforts to create a green and sustainable company.
